Currently residing and working in Hanoi, Vietnam, Vu Khoi Nguyen is a young photographer whose documentary photography focuses on the impact of urbanization and industrialization on the cultural and spiritual aspects of people's lives. Having grown up in an industrial city, Nguyen was inspired by the juxtaposition between natural and artificial landscapes, motivating him to initiate his first project, which explores a lesser-known aspect of the coal mining community through the local art of coal sculpture. His work has been featured under the Matca Creation Grant Program since 2021.
