Oliver Vy Lê Nguyễn is a queer and trans* Californian artist who relocated to Seattle in 2014 to live openly as a queer and transgender artist. His interdisciplinary work, spanning darkroom photography and collage, explores themes of identity, belonging, and existence. Through his lens, Oliver Vy captures the beauty in the mundane and the introspective moments of everyday life, often drawing on his personal experiences and surroundings. His work is influenced by the raw aesthetics of film, emphasizing texture, light, and emotional resonance to create a narrative that is both timeless and rooted in the present. Oliver Vy’s work invites viewers to connect with the simplicity and nuances of everyday rituals and being, often celebrating untold stories of queer & trans* people of color.
